Standing at 6"4, at the age of 46, with a Harvard Law Degree, Conan O' Brien ends his Career with Television. After writing for "Saturday Night Live" and "the Simpsons", and hosting the "Late Night Show" for 16 years, Conan leaves behind the network that created him.
(Campaign to for Conan, 83% of people voted for Conan over Leno for the 11:30 time slot)He inherited the "Late Night Show" from David Letterman in 1993. (Similar to the dispute with Leno today) David Lettermen was promised the "Tonight Show" on NBC after hosting the "Late Night" show for several years. NBC decided they did not want to give Letterman the Tonight Show, leaving Letterman to find another network. Thus creating the rivalry between Leno and Letterman. Lettermen then passed the Late Night Show to Conan O Brien, who would later earn the series 8 Emmys.
Recently NBC has done it again. Conan O' Brien's contract gives him the full right to host the Tonight Show. With Leno now at 10:00 PM, NBC thought they had an all star line up. NBC found that they were wrong, with Leno barley attracting an audience at all, and Conan still attracting a young audience. To counteract this, NBC has decided to move the Tonight Show (Conan O' Brien's show) to a later time, and put Jay Leno's show in its place. Therefore putting Conan back to the spot he was, while keeping him in the Tonight Show contract. Unfortunately Jimmy Fallon would suffer the most, because his show would not start until 1:00 AM.
(Conan hosts the Tonight show for the first time)For the past week Conan has taken vicious shots at NBC and Leno with his humor. NBC has reacted by asking Conan to leave the Tonight Show tonight! As of Jan 15th Conan O Brien will no longer be the host of the Tonight Show. The show he dreamed of hosting since he was a child.
"Kids you can do anything you put your mind too, Unless Jay Leno wants to do it too"
